Our Benefits & Finance Services provide our community members with the tools, resources, and services they need to have secure and prosperous futures. These include screening and enrollment assistance to support community members as they navigate the complex systems to access over 40 public benefits, financial empowerment, tax preparation, and more. Our food distribution program is yet another way NMIC connects the community with urgently-needed services. Our team alleviates the stress of not knowing where and when the next meal is coming from for 300 community members monthly.

Application assistance and advocacy to access benefits from NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA) including rental assistance grants, SNAP, and other benefits.
Seasonal tax assistance to low-income individuals and families.
Consumer Debt Legal Services
Advocacy and legal counsel for residents with consumer debt issues including active consumer debt court cases, judgements, frozen bank accounts, and garnishment of wages.
Advice for clients on applying for and accessing unemployment insurance benefits, and representation to address denials or incorrect benefit levels.
